Building with Zardz
Zardz are connected many different ways. The cuts are designed to place multiple Zardz together horizontally, vertically, parallel and perpendicular. When connecting two Zardz, push them together entirely. The wedge cuts, when connected firmly together, hold the Zardz in place so you can add more and more Zardz to your creation. Good designs have reinforced connections. You can build a very sturdy structure by varying the direction of your connections, adding multiple Zardz to a single connection and keeping the connections snug.
To the right is a replica of the Empire State Building built out of over 10,000 Zardz. It took about 4 days to complete the project and to date is still standing. The two forces holding the project together are friction and gravity (no glue, tape or anything else). It was constructed in three pieces which allow it to be moved quite easily.
Connecting
Below are a few illustrations showing how Zardz can be connected. One of the key elements to the design of the die cuts is the spacing stays constant after cards are connected. This allows additional connections and the reinforcement of joints for more stable structures.
